region which lies immediately south of Lazio marks the beginning
of the Italian South. Naples is the main focus, the beautiful
coastline, the ancient sites of Pompeii and Herculaneum, the islands
of Capri, Ischia and Procida. The wonderful Amalfi Coast, both
dramatic and awe inspiring and again further south, the Cilento
coast, with amazing ancient temples and extraordinary landscapes
with herds of buffalo. No wonder this is the home of Mozarella,
and then unsurprisingly the true birthplace of Pizza. What a wonderful

Situated
10 kilometres from Sorrento. It is one of the 'pearls' in the
Gulf of Naples, and the Gulf of Salerno facing the Isle of Capri.
Since the time of the Etruscans through to present day celebrities,
this location has enchanted travellers. The Oasi Olimpia
is a 4 star elegant hotel with only 14 rooms, situated on one
of the hills of Sant' Agata Sui due Golfi. Built in 1892 for a
rich German aristocrat as a luxurious residence, now a splendid
hotel offering exquisite gourmet cuisine.
Now
for the first time, the hotel is opening its kitchens to offer
hands-on cookery lessons with Chef Carmen Mazzola. Carmen's first
challenge as manager here was to turn the newly opened hotel into
a successful venture. With that now accomplished, she has returned
to her first love, cooking. Her passion has always been cooking;
she competed in many competitions, hoping to one day become a
professional chef. Although that has been delayed by her creating
a fantastic hotel experience, she now has some time to return
to her real passion, and in presenting the many recipes that have
been passed down from generation to generation from her region.
You will have an exceptional experience of a cooking class with
an exceptional culinary personality. Be prepared to cook, eat,
drink and laugh!

A wonderful
buffet breakfast awaits you.
In
the morning, we visit a mozzarella cheese maker, and see and learn
about the production methods, with, of course, a tasting. Afternoon
- visit to Pompeii *
Late
afternoon: Hands-on cookery lesson followed by a superb dinner
accompanied with appropriate wines.

Day
Three
Breakfast
followed by a short tour in S, Agata sui due Golfi.
Return
to the hotel for your second cookery lesson where you will prepare
your lunch. After lunch an excursion to visit the towns of Amalfi
and Positano. Dinner tonight is a Pizza Party. Prepare and dine
on all kinds of pizzas with the accompaniment of music for the
evening. Bed and Breakfast at your hotel.

Four
Breakfast
followed by a visit to a Limoncello factory. You will have the
chance to taste not only this but orange and mandarin liqueurs
as well. Free time for lunch. Back for your third
cookery lesson followed by dinner, the fruits of your labour.

*Pompeii
The
archaeological excavations of Pompeii are amongst the most popular
and renowned in the world. For here, more than anywhere else in
the world it is possible to recapture the civilization of those
ancient times. Life in Pompeii flourished right up until the 24th
August 79 AD when the sleeping Vesuvius awoke and buried the city
under 4 metres of ash and lapilli.
At
the end of the 16th century, buildings with frescoed walls emerged
and since then excavations have bought most of the city back to
life. The complex includes city gates, streets, gymnasia, thermal
baths, civil and religious buildings, modest dwellings, stately
homes, shops and fountains.
Amalfi
A magnet
for tourists from all over the world, and known as the land of
eternal Spring. According to legend, Hercules, a strong pagan
god, loved a nymph called Amalfi.
Sadly his love was short-lived. After she died, he buried her
in ' the most beautiful place on earth' and then, to immortalize
her, he gave it her name. One of the most elegant and well-known
health resorts of the Amalfi Coast is Positano. Legend has it
that this was founded by Poseidon or Neptune for the sake of the
nymph: Pasitea, whom he loved. History, heritage, and sheer beauty
of sea and coast, under the warm Italian sun cannot fail to impress.
