guided tour into the Lagorai mountains with trout-lunch in a mountain
refuge, or polenta and barbecue under the trees. This is a special
opportunity to visit an area where only licensed local residents
are allowed to venture, taking their guests with them. Superb
photograph opportunity, beautiful 'alpine' flowers, butterflies,
rabbit, hare, lynx, fawns, squirrels and many birds - this is
a particularly wild and uncontaminated environment, sometimes
called 'The Tibet of the Dolomites'This was a front-line between
Austria and Italy in WW1 - many fortifications remain to bear

Take
a local train along to Bassano del Grappa in the Veneto. An historic
town, with a wonderful market on a Saturday, and superb shops
everyday. Boutiques selling ceramics, and wonderful cookware as
well as olive oils and dried mushrooms. Visit the Grappa distillery
on the old famous bridge built by the Alpini. See for yourself
what inspired Hemingway to write 'Farewell to Arms' as a result
of his time spent here. Enjoy a local aperitif in Nardini, and
try some of the regional specialties in the delicatessens and
wonderful restaurants. Return to your hotel for Bed and Breakfast.

Check out
of your hotel with a transfer to Venice. ( Luggage can be left
in the left-luggage office at the central station ) - Enjoy a
full day in Venice with some shopping and sightseeing, before
taking your taxi back to the airport in time or your return flight.
